Promoting friendship and cultural links with our twin towns of Lillebonne in France, Immenstadt in Germany and Torres Vedras in Portugal.

There was a successful visit to Germany for Viehscheid 15-22 September.

 

Bavaria may be the home of BMW and Audi, but there are still some age-old rural traditions.  One of these is the annual festival which celebrates the return of the prodigal cows, the Viehscheid. Because here the cows really do come home, every autumn, after having spent their summers up in the mountains.

A group of Wellington majorettes is to join the carnival in Torres Vedras from 27th February to 4th March.

 

The assosiation AGM is due to be held on 7th March at 15.30 in St Johns Church Hall.

Germany - There was a successful visit to Immenstadt for Viehscheid 15-22 September.

Portugal - Torres Vedras sent a group of dancers to wellington carnival on 28th September.

Youth Exchanges

  • The majorettes have exchanged for the carnivals (beginning of Lent in Torres Vedras and here in September.)
  • The French school exchange continues via Uffculme School.
  • The German youth exchange continues via The Castle School.
